I too have the SES code P0420. I am going to get the ECU reprogrammed tomorrow. HOWEVER...and this really stinks...I have 88,000 miles on my car so no 80/80 warranty. I have to pay $94.00.

My question is that just in case they want me to replace catalytic converter, I want to know how much these cost for my 2000 SE. Thanks.

You can find the Random Technology versions on line for around $225 or so for an aftermarket variety.

 

The best thing you can do (even though its illegal) is to buy a used one off of a salvage (parting out the max) on this forum. Usually runs about $50. Hey if he's willing to sell ..... who's gonna tell. Otherwise Random cat is the way to go. Good luck.

 

I bought mine today for $150. Dont remember how what kind it is but, how much different can it be. I bought one for my 240SX, and it was only $100. I guess it depends on where you go.
