Intake and gas mileage?

Ok, so I'm thinking of getting a berk or frankencar intake for my 2001 SE, auto(i know, i would rather have a 5 spd) and I am concered about the gas milage. Does the intake increase or decrease MPG?

With my Injen intake I gained 3mpg in everday driving. I think most have had the same response.

You won't notice a dramatic difference, because you will be stomping on the gas more to hear the roar Seriously, you won't notice much difference.

I have the Berk intake. It's a bracket and cone flter, replacing everything in front of the Mass air flow. Gas milage was the same if not better. Then a few months later Berk comes out with the cold air tube. A piece of straight tube that replaces everything between the throttle body to the back of the MAF. The next few weeks I noticed that I got really bad gas milage. Lost about 3-4mpg on the highway. Took off that piece and everything is great again. I do about 80-100 miles a day and notice changes like that in milage.

Seems every motor is a little different. With the vast amount of intake systems you just need to find the one that will work the best with your motor.

$50 for the Berk(Filter and bracket) was perfect for my '01.

I also seem to get more out of the tank but my computer calculates the same gas milage.
