Clear Corners. What About The Bulbs

I just put them in yesterday. They look great in the day. Not sure about the night. The rear bulbs are clear, and the front are yellow. Not sure if I should put clear in the front or red in the rear, or just leave it alone. Does law say that the bulbs have to be a certain color? What did the rest of you guys do? If you did replace the bulbs can you get them at a Pep Boys or somewhere like that?

I used the colored red bulbs for a couple of days but it had too much of a pink look. I found some led bulbs on ebay that had 5 red leds. Perfectly red looking with after they were installed

I can't believe alot of you guys are getting pulled over for your bulbs. If you get the autozone, pepboys specials then yeah i could see ay getting pulled over. Because those bubbs shine almost a aqua blue/green. A serious no-no But if you PIAA corner lights, Polarg hyperwhites(i have)), Nokya , etc...all these lights shine a silverish color/white. I have had the Polars in all 4 corners including my city lights and never have i gotten pulled over sine the 8 month i owned my Maxima.

One officer commented that he wish all cars had them , because they make your car very visible at night.

It's not the type of bulbs. It's the color the bulbs give out; white. Not worth to get pulled over IMO.

I spoke to a police officer here in Birmingham, Al and she told me that they don't pull over people with the clear corners. It just depends on the police department in your city to if you get pulled over or not.
Although I was told that they don't pull people over with the clear corners, I still have the amber in the front and red (from autozone) in the back because I like to travel.

After you pry the front ones out of the bumper, how do you get to the light bulb? Do you have to take the whole assembly our that is held by a rubber 0-ring or just the top piece? If it is just the top piece, how do you get it out?
I just spent 15 minutes trying to pry it out - no luck. I guess I am just afraid to break it....
Thanks!

Alright, lets use the rear passenger side markers for example. I just stuck the flat head screw driver into the left edge of the stock piece, and I slowly popped it out. Sometimes those pieces put up a good fight, but eventually you will pop them out. Just make sure you are not messing up the paint on the maxima. I messed up a little when I used too much strength but I fixed that with some good old detailing and waxing. When you pry out the piece,you will see a wire and a piece that looks turnable. Turn that piece and you will see the stock bulb. If you are going for the clear side marker/red or amber bulb look, all you have to do is the obvious which is to replace the stock bulb with the amber/red bulbs, and then twist that piece back into the CLEAR side marker. After that is just popping it back in. GOOD LUCK

My question is how do you know what bulbs to buy when you start replacing them on the car for instance in the manual for the sides it says t10 bulb number. But at superbrightleds.com they don't have these references they use 4 digit numbers. How do I know what to get for all stock replacements??

Ok oakes go to the website. Then click on LED bulbs abd products. Once you are there you will see on the 1st box "12 Volt LED CAR BULBS" then you click on more info. As you scroll down you will see "4 and 6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs" If you read further you will see that these bulbs are brighter than the inverted bulbs and they replace the 194 and 168 bulbs. OUR STOCK BULBS ARE 12Volts and THEY ARE 168 style BULBS. Thats how I figured them out.

These are the bulbs i purchased.

WLED-R4 Red LED bulb
12VDC Red 4-LED Wedge Base Bulb (194/168 type)
$ 1.59

AND

WLED-A4 Amber LED bulb
12VDC Amber 4-LED Wedge Base Bulb (194/168 type)
$ 1.59

GOOD LUCK. PM if you have more questions.

you can go to www.sylvania.com they have a section where you can choose your car, and they will list every part number for which ever lights you want to change. good luck again.

WTF!!! People are actually getting ticketed for this $hit!

Whats the safety hazard? Are they affraid people wont be able to distinguish the front from the back at night? Hmmm, What direction are the lights moving? Give me a break. Most cars dont even have ANY side markers!

Damn, I hope I dont get pulled over for mine, (I have the polargs, they look great with the HID) Ill end up in jail for throwing a temper tantrum (and a polarg bulb at the cop)

Did they tell any of you guys why it is a problem?

It strictly has to do with the SAE and DOT laws that say that the front has to be amber(and is really supposed to reflect amber as well) and the rear ones are supposed to be red(and reflect red). Which makes clear corner housings illegal as well. most police will not mess with you if you keep the light it self as amber and red.

I just think it sux because like I said, most cars dont even have side markers. So how can there be a law against it.
