Tranny code....what does it mean?

Is there a way to tell if you have open diff., lsd, Hlsd, or Vlsd. By looking at the tranny code on the plate int he engine bay.

Yes. There will be an "H" somewhere in the number for the transaxle type.

so i assume that the H is for HLSD, and a V would be for VLSD...what about open diff.

Open diff will have no H. VLSD was not available for 02-03 cars.
