Thanks guys. I am just looking for a better sound, but most of all, the factory muffler is just plain ugly, that's the only reason I am considering changing it. I don't want to spend a lot of money for a muffler, especially since I don't really care if it gives the car more power. I was thinking about having a local muffler shop put a Flowmaster on it and weld some chrome or stainless dual tips on it, kind of like the factory dual tips, but bigger and shinier.
the powertech sounds nice

DO NOT get your wife the powertech. She will hate because that thing sounds like azz. It's your wife...... how about some Magnaflow tips welded on. These are the 3" single wall Magnaflow tips. Do a search and you'll find a ton of people who have this. I had my existing tips completely cut off, then 2" of pipe welded between these new Magnaflow tips and my stock muffler. I also had the existing moved up a little to make the tips closer to the bumper. Check out my homepage for more pics.
I listened to the sound clips with my wife tonight, and we like the Powertech. It sounds and looks good. One question though, the sound clip that was posted, was it on an automatic or 6 speed? Does anybody have this muffler on an automatic? If so, what do you think about it?
Is the Powertech muffler a straight through design with no fiberglass packing? If it is not, I will be going with a Magnaflow muffler. I had a 3R Racing muffler on my wife's Cavalier and the fiberglass packing was blowing out within a year of purchase.
