Guys Help!!!!!!!!

Last night i was washing my car, after i did that i was going to spruce up my engine to. Well i went to look at my filter to see how dirty it was ,when i took it out, i happen to flip the filter panel, and the filter fell right in my wash bucket full of water. My filter was soaked so i let air dry over night, feeling that might help.

This morning i notice my filter was damp but wasn't soak, so i put it back in the car. I didn't get 20 feet down my road and my car dies and the SES light come on . I mmediately knew what the problem was, the damp filter. So i took it out and the car started fine but the SES light now stays on.... So i drive back home and blow drive the filter to be as dry as possible so i can drive to the autoparts store. The light is still on. I buy a new filter and put it in , and SES light is still on.

How can i reset the SES light? Do i have to diconect the battery, or is there another way? Or did i do something worse than expected? The car drove fine when i dried out the old filter and even wehn i put the new one in. Under hard acceleration, normal driving, etc. the Max drove fine , but the light is on.......

Please help, thanks guys!!!!!

Im not trying to make fun of your situation... but ive been pondering.... lets say you are going down a deserted highway and your temp gauge is a bit high... so you check the coolant tank and realize its almost empty... the problem now remains that you dont have any coolent with you..... And another problem arises that you have to really pee... since you need water and/or coolant...will it hurt the car if you pee in the coolent tank?

Dude, I could just picture me doing this and cursing all the way to the parts store! Many autoparts stores will pull the code reset the SES light for free. Call around.

the question is will you have enough to make a difference? i was wondering i have a Weapon R foam filter and its pretty dirty..i was wondering if there was a particular way i should go about cleaning it or if its just simple as just running a hose on it...and how long should i dry it so i dont get the same results as an SES light coming on.

If there is a special cleaning solution like with a K&N, Use it! I dont think hosing it down will have the same effect as it did on ICE's car. I dont imagine a wet paper filter will let much (if any) air through, but I dont think a foam filter would have that problem. I would think the fibers in a paper filter would degrade and fuse together if they get wet. Probably be like having a paper plate for an air filter.

I used to hose down my K&N (doesnt clean it by the way, have to use their sollution) I just let it dry over night and had no problems.

SEINFELD! kramer is using jerry's car to take his blood to the blood bank, and he needs the air conditioning on full blast to keep the blood cool. the car overheats, and the manual says to turn off the air conditioning in that situation, but he's unwilling to, so he fills it up with blood as coolant....classic show.
