Hotshot Header dyno SAE corrected

Ok well the long awaited HS header dyno is completed with before header with Warpspeed y pipe and after with full HS header/y pipe. These numbers are SAE corrected and Im pretty damn impressed. If you want to see area under the curve then look here HPTQtoo many people are worried about a big peak number but everyone knows all dynos are different. I did these pulls on the same dyno but the before green line was done 3 months ago but its a good enough comparision.

Mods on the before dyno were WSP y pipe, b pipe, HKS rear, UDP, and GAB
Mods on the after WSP b pipe, HS headers, UDP, GAB, and stock muffler

Overall I'm 100% pleased with the results and Im sure I could pull higher numbers on a different dyno but I will just stick to track times and trap speeds to show my power.

Here is a quick comparision from yesterday at the dyno. The green line represents a 02 6 speed with GAB, UDP, 2.5" b pipe, HKS rear section vs my pulls from yesterday.

Hopefully this will peak interests of others and get HS some business. Next up ECU which should get me in the 240 area

Matt

Yea Im pleased and right now in cool weather I should be in the 100+ trap speeds considering the green line net me a few high 99 traps. The uncorrected numbers on the header is 231 and STD is 235 if anyone was curious. Now I can't wait to get the ECU to lean the car out a little more running 12.0 from 5000 on and bump up the timing and extended rev limit. Im ready to tear up the track again

~17whp and 17wtq from these HS headers is extremely filthy Matt!

Holy crap! Question, did you switch the oem exhaust back on for a particular reason, maybe the sounds was too harsh/loud with the HKS rear?!

I imagine with the enhanced air flow, your car pulls like a raped ape from anywhere in the revband huh? I cant wait to see your times this Spring in 1/4 forum, very interesting.

Im thinking a crank hp rating for your car as it stands would be around 285hp and 290tq, would you agree??

Great numbers and great info for the org. What's your a/f and where was it metered - at the main cat or at the tailpipes?

Thanks

A/F was metered at the tailpipes. I wanted to hook the Wideband into the header collecter but just went the easy way and clipped it to the tailpipe.

I think its possible but will take a little more work. I plan to get the tranny built towards the end of the year with a high stall convertor and LSD. With a little weight reduction it might be close . Wonder who would laugh at me if I ran down the track with skinnies on the rear gunning for 12's

Shoot, I wouldn't laugh. You need to get some super light front wheels though...like 13lbs each or so. While I'm on the wheel subject, are there any 15" wheels that will work with the stock 5.5th Gens at all (and clear everything)? Or am I wishing...

Nope I have TSW revos 15x7 now that clear the stock brakes. Only think is the boxes got trashed and I have no idea what the offset was on them . They definatly aren't 13 pounds probably more like 17-18 but they fit. Also I have tried millenia wheels but they wouldn't clear the calipers. Now Aaron92se ownes them.

I may be out of my mind, but didn't your car make 220+fwhp/tq before he headers? Or was that a different dyno?

The HS numbers look promising. The gains are right in the midrange which is what makes cars faster. I'd like to see what a VQ30DE/K would do with these things.

Yes it did but that was a while ago when the dyno first opened. Everyones numbers were high that day. The 211 is the most recent on that dyno before the header dyno. Just for reference one of my friends type R hatch made 182whp when they first opened same day I made 223. Now she added DC sports 4into1 longtube headers and is only making 179whp but her car is running faster at the track. Once again I took my most recent dyno from that shop and used it for the comparision.

My Kosei K1's are 13.5 lbs, 15x7, 38mm offset and fit the front of my 2k2.

I have tried the Millenia wheels on the rear and they fit ok but I am working on something even lighter than them, will let you guys know if it works out.

I love the headers, but the raspinesss is killing me. If I put the resonator back on, will it cure this? Will it kill my power much?

18 hp and 17 lbs. torque over a y-pipe is amazing. It has to be the design quality with the longer upper headers and equal lenght y-pipe.

Someone see if the these will fit on a 4th gen.

Jime, 15x7 w/ +38 offset...and you still have the stock brake setup? I hate to keep whoring the thread, but this is important stuff (and Kosei wheels are pretty inexpensive).

Anyway, I can't wait to get some more N/A goodies! These headers are the perfect thing...

Hey, you saying I got cheap sheit?

Stock brakes

I haven't driven with them, but I tried them on to make sure my slicks would be ok and they spin freely, however there isn't much clearance.

Hell, those are great wheels, especially for the money! Clearance, schmerence...as long as they clear the brakes!

Yea they are quite raspy, Im going to try and wrap the flex section to see if thats the area creating the raspness. Only other solution would be to header wrap the headers and y pipe.
