1.83 here in Virginia Beach. If it reaches 1.86, it's the highest it's ever been here. That is Amaco 93 gas.

Well here in South New Jersey where they don't steal HIds but the insurance Co. Sticks it to you anyway I can get 87 oct for 1.50 gal and 93 oct for 1.65 a gal plus its ilegal to pump your own gas in New Jersey so you dont even have to get out of the car to full up just pull up to the pump pop open the fuel door and tell the attendant what you want.

I was in Knoxville for the 1982 World's Fair during the energy crisis, and during that time gas was then predicted to be around $8 a gal. by 1990. So, in retrospect it has not been too bad.

I do feel for you coasters that are paying over $2 per Gal. When Gas reaches that here, I'll be getting something more economical.

I miss that about NJ!

I live in NYC and it costs about $2.00 a gallon for premium gas. I don't drive much, only 5k a year. So I don't really care that much even if gas goes up another 40 cents, which would cost me no more than another $100 a year.

May be I should buy stock in the gas companies to offset any additional expense. Since these gas companies are great in price gouging, may be I can make a few bucks on their stock, assuming they pass their ill-earned gains to stockholders.

I know this varies w/ driving style/conditions but how much, on average, do you get out of a full tank...cause ive seen some people report 300miles to 260...I thought i was getting poor milage and I usually get around 320 - 360 miles/full tank?

There is this one gas station in the middle of nowhere in SoCal that charges a blatant $2.80. And its not a great gas station either.
