RSB Thump

Installed a RSB on my 03 Max. Now when I go over bumps, there is a noticable thump. Is this the car botteming out? Is this normal for the RSB?

You need to move the RSB forward on the car, it's hitting the Lateral link. It needs to be mounted so it sits right under the axle or very close to it.

The Lateral link is the large hinged bracket that connects the the axle and the suspension member and sits directly behind the axle. Take a good look and you'll see contact marks on the RSB or the very lower end of the Lateral link.

What kind of RSB do you have?

Stillen, Addco or Progress?

You need to move the bushings. Move them towards the center of the axle, a little more away from the bends. About 4 inches from the bends should take care of the problem.

I should have asked that, sorry.
Doesn't the Addco attach to the axle with U-bolts?

Yes, 4 to 4.5 inches from the bends and it'll stop the problem.

Thanks for the help guys. The bushings that attach to the axle itself are very close to the bends. I'll move them today.
