I got my first engine code on my 01 Maxima SE yesterday. Right after it's 3rd payment LOL.

Anyway, it turned out to be Bank 1, Sensor 2. Which Bank is considered Bank 1 on these cars. Toward the radiator, or toward the firewall. I assume Sensor 2 is the post cat sensor.

I had Autozone clear the code. I am hoping it is some substandard gas, and it won't reoccure. I ran some Exxon 93 in it since I was on a trip. I normally only run Sunoco.


Anyway, hopefully it stays off, but in the event it's back on I need to know which one to change.

i just had the same code pulled and i reset it, hasnt came back on in 2 weeks. I think its probably some bad gas.

by the way, its the post-cat sensor i believe
