Phantom Grip inquiry
Phantom Grip LSD?
I was diggin through the for sale forum and found a new Phantomgrip LSD for $300. Went to the website www.phantomgrip.com to find out more, all i know is that it is an adaptor to mimick the effects of an lsd. Since my car lacks a LSD,this product looks appealing. Any of you have experience with phantomgrip?
yep that was probably the post i saw...
our max's could use just a little bit of traction, i don't particularly like having to fight the wheel on those right turns.
what is this the glacier pearl thread?!?! white rules!

Personally, I would pay the extra $200 to get the real thing
I was just think about the Phantom Grip myself after reading Dr Volkl for sale post. I noticed they have an application for auto trannies as well. I'm in the dark on this and definitely would like to learn more.

SR20DEN was the one who figured out that the HSLD unit fits in the non HLSD tranny. And, the HLSD is way better than the phantom grip. And, as of a week or so ago, according to daveB, there was only one in the entire country!

Thanks
I'm actually not selling it anymore...I returned it to NOPI in exchange for a full UR pulley set for the new Z.
Having held the product in my hand, I can tell you that it'll probably work ok...might not be the best for corners, but straight line performance should be improved. The guys at Phantom seem pretty happy with their product, sounds like good support.
However, you'll have to drop your tranny...the actual install of the part only takes like 10mins...but getting everything apart and back together is tough I guess. I didn't have LSD and I was desperate for something, I think this was a pretty good way to do it....obviously the best thing would be to buy a replacement from nissan
