Snow drifting threw ABS light?

I was doing a little drifting in the snow after work tonight, just pulling the E brake and letting the back end break loose back and fourth, and after like a minute or so my ABS light came on. I locked up the brakes to see if they worked and they didn't. I shut the car off and started it again and the light was off and they were working again. Does anybody know why this could have happened? It was like 6" of snow so maybe it got in a sensor or something, at least thats the only thing I can think of. Anyway, is it bad to drift in the snow? Obviously its not 'good' but can it mess up anything seriously?

it shouldn't do that. i've done more snow stupid stuff than most here.. no codes or any issues.

perhaps for some reason it detected continuous wheel lock/slippage and though the ABS system was malfunctioning.

well regardless it should go away as soon as you drive the car a couple blocks without the e-brake up.

Did you have your foot on the gas while the e-brake is up? If so, the ABS module thinks there's a problem with the brake, that detected that you're driving. That's probably why you have the light on. It happened to me, dumb me almost forgot about the e-brake release and when I hit the brake pedal, it locked up my wheel due to the e-brake was still on.

It's normal, the ABS computer gets confused sometimes when a wheel is locked up but the rest of the wheels are spinning fine... happened to mine once when I had a frozen up parking brake cable. Goes away after you shut off/turn on the car.

Yeah I did have the E brake up while I was on the gas I guess that must have been it, at least it wasn't serious. Thanks for the info
