I got XM and love it, been a subscriber for 2 years now, and I never heard FM or AM ever since then. I used Alpine for deck and used their XM controll unit with a Trek antena mounted on the rear parcell shelf- they look goofy mounted on the decklid of roof if U ask me ! This way I get good reception still, and its not visible to the eye.

Im running the XM fm modulated unit. I just got a new Alpine and im going to get the tuner so I can run it through my Head Unit. It works great. If you drive alot you will really like it. Now it has traffic and weather in the bigger cities so I dont have to even put it on FM or AM anymore.

I've installed the XM Commander (XM radio). It uses a modulator. Will take pics of where I mounted the unit (to the right of the steering wheel on the gauge surround thingy). Only way to get around a modulator is to go with an aftermarket headunit (I think).

my Alpine radio, the XM box is in the trunk mounted next to my amps. Antenna is where the BOSE sub would mount. My GXE had the normal DIN mount radio with tape and 4 speakers, so I didn't even need a dash kit- one of the few reasons I picked up a GXE over a SE.

http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287579955 here is a link to a few pictures of my car inside... I will grab my digital cam with me and go snap a few pics of it in a sec, friend is stoppn by with his G35coupe- gotta rebuild the trans on it for him. I'll post some pics of the console. On a GXE the vents are part of the radio surround bezzle, ya also going to need GXE radio brackets and if U desire a pocket below the radio. The cool slide out drawer from a 3rd gen fits in it- tested it.

I have Sirius and love the programing. As mentioned above, Howard wants to stay clear of Clearchannel and Clearchannel owns 30% of XM. My Panasonic equipment does go out under bridges and very heavy foliage, but from reading other satellite boards, XM also suffers from this. I will be trading in my Eclipse HU and Panasonic equiptment for the Kenwood Excellon so that I can keep one unit in the dash instead of 2. Currently the Eclipse HU's don't support sattelite radio through the auxiliary inputs. I've tried everything and Eclipse said that they were aware of the problems.

I have some trouble with tall buildings downtown Chicago sometimes, but since I don't live in the city it don't bother me much. I don't listen to talk shows or even the news (care less bout thats going on round the world) I just enjoy listening to BPM, The Move, and The System.. I browse through all the channels sometimes to find something diff to listen to but thats very very seldom. One thing bout Satellite radio- no commercials and ya can be in New York City or San Diego and the same music will be played at eighter city. I hated driving to lets say Arizona and having to listen to Spanish stations and not understanding jack. I also installed a 6 disc Alpine MP3 changer in the trunk for more entertaiment over the longer drives Here are the pictures I promissed to get of my GXE console.
Enjoy
