Correct my before ECU dyno was 226whp and 234tq I believe without looking. I did have one run where I hit 246tq but it was a spike at the beginning and I don't count that. Although the Autos can't really hit peak tq on the dyno b/c peak is before we can go WOT. Once I get the ECU back I will dyno once with just the ECU, then a couple with a large sized cone filter to replace the stock airbox to see if more air gets pulled in. Once I get a smaller battery I plan to make my own style CAI through the headlight for the track which should show flow quite well.

My car never seems to dyno as high peak as others but performs great at the track.

I'll try and get them. I did pull up your post on your dyno run with with HS headers (no TS ECU) and did a visual comparison. Our charts look very similiar until 5000 rpm. At 5K I'm just topping 225 HP. HP continues to rise to the mid 230's at 5500 rpm which it hold until about 6200 rpms and then slowly drops off. Probably just the stock air box vs popcharger making the difference. I don't know if it makes a difference but I have a ridiculously big K&N cone filter. With the smaller battery you should be able to fabricate a nice cold/ram air setup for the track. I'd like to see something like that without removing the headlight, but I don't know if it's feasible.

03BlkSETE, How many WHP do you think you gained from the HS Headers alone. Do you think the advertised 17-21 WHP is accurate?

Yes I proved that with my dynos, the power is not just peak gains its throughout the whole rpm range.

I never got a chance to see your graph, where(rpm range) do you see the most gains with these headers? To me, while I'm driving it feels between 4-6k rpm.

I don't think ANYONE can question that the HS headers deliver, since NOBODY has got 237ish whp in an auto, which would be 240+whp in a manual. I know G35 6spds that aren't putting down that much stock.

Blu's dyno even showed they're worth 20+whp *OVER* a WS y-pipe in area under the curve like 5K rpm. Hell, if the Cattman headers delivered those kind of numbers over his y-pipe, I'd buy it.

Congrats man, those are some nice numbers, are you going to do any runs at the track just too see how those headers perform against the competition?

Again if you can't afford to dyno then you shouldn''t be modding in the first place.< 3.0 quote

That's a mighty negative statement, some of us just mod to enjoy the performs (butt dyno feeling) of our cars, not just to post up some numbers or to see graphs.

You make it sounds as if we buy any performance mods that the only reason we should be them is just to get a confirmation that it works.

Like I said "some of us just do it for the seat of the pants feeling, not to be a dynoqueen.

Does anyone think its possible to see 250 whp on a six speed with intake, HotShot headers, and a full exhaust?

Plus a lightened flywheel, UDP ya. Add in the cams, you'll be seein 260 or so (like the 3.5 Altima dyno that's hangin around somewhere, believe you can find it on nissanperformancemag.com)

03BlkSETE: you have any sound clips of your setup? I'd love to get these headers but really dont want noise (and I'd prefer not to replace my muffler again...) What would you compare the sound to? like mustang loud, civic loud, or pretty decent? Just tryin to get a feel for what I'd be in for if I tossed these on in a couple months

When I first got the headers on I didn't think it was that loud. I don't know if it's getting louder or what, but it's pretty loud. It's hard to describe the sound. Definitely not like a civic, but not like an American V8 either. I like the juice's sounds better. He uses a Super Turbo muffler. No sound clip, but if you're coming to NY let me know and you could hear it first hand.

Thanks. I'm going to go the track next month. First I'm going for a new set of tires. These stock Potenza's are not providing very much traction. I'm considering the Toyo Proxes 4 in 245/45/17. If anybody has any input on tires, please PM me. I'm could use some guidance.

can you see if they can e-mail you the runviewer files? Thats puzzling I don't think I have ever seen a 13whp increase b/t two different pulls in the same day. Odd but those are some pretty stout power curves. Wonder how much the lightweight wheels effect the numbers.

The car had been sitting for about 20 minutes before the first dyno pull, so I'm guessing that's the reason. Next time I'll try a couple of more runs for greater consistency. Just called the dyno shop, they won't email me the files. I have to bring a disk down to them. I'll see if I could do it this weekend.

that would be great if you could get them, also if you could get Eriks if you have a chance to go up there.

Why does the ecu make it so rich in the higher rpms. You could lean that out and make some better numbers.

Really? I think my headers have gotten quieter, when I first put them on the interior rattled quite a bit, but now the rattle is pretty much gone and there barely noticeable at idle. But then again my only exhaust mod is the HS Headers.

With my Setup(Injen CAI and HS Headers, rest of the exhaust stock) the car is not that loud. At first I was a little tenative to put these headers on because of noise, but it really isn't that bad. But in a couple of weeks I will be putting on the cattman B-pipe W/stock muffler, so I'm expecting the car to get louder.

You NEED an AFC to fine tune that curve.

I think you'd see worthwhile gains....still...those curves are NICE.

1st run should be ignored Blu, since you have to get everything warm to get somewhat consistent results. Theory is to keep doing pulls until power starts dropping or you get 2-3 consistent runs.
