Tonight I went back to Rockigham and got in all of three runs. The first was on street tires and from memory (can't find that slip right now) I did

13.68 @ 105.xx with a 2.3xx 60'

and the 1/8 mile was below 9 seconds for the second time.

Right after that I put on the MT 22x8 slicks and launched at 4k RPM after warming the tires up.

Now I almost think I can run a 12.99 NA in this car without getting the ECU or cams. It will all come down to getting the correct launch. I may have to use bigger slicks and get a tighter suspension.

Yeah Matt told me on the radio what I ran before I got my sheet. I made him repeat himself about 5 times because even I was shocked at that E.T. I did predict that I would run a better trap speed than I ran last Sunday. At least I did it once but now I doubt it will ever get any better without removing more weight.

How much wheel hop are you getting? Everytime I launch my car I have to let off b/c it sounds like my transmission is about to be torn loose.

The only difference is this time I used the slicks, a lawn & garden battery which may have killed my alternator and I probably had a little over 3 gallons left in the tank. I really want to work for a 12.99 NA before I put the Nitrous back on which should make for some very interesting trap speeds.

 

You plan on using the 100shot? Low 12 or high 11s should be possible right? Damn that fast!

Get some stiffer springs/struts. I've had zero hop since the swap. And apparently, I'm a poet.

And I missed the clock on the 13.1@107 run but I said it out loud so hopefully that won't cause any conflict. If it does we will just have to go back and do it all over again

I will explain it to you like I explained it to those Honduh punks last night at the track. I have NEVER lied to anyone about whether or not I was using nitrous. I am not hiding anything other than the specifics of what I did to the intake manifold.
These kids last night were in disbelief of what I was doing so Matt and I angrily approached them on separate occasions and virtually made them come over and inspect my car. I showed them everything they were willing to look at and answered every question they asked.
It is not in my character to lie to people and I get severely p!$$ed off when people call me a liar directly or indirectly. I will be running these times and trap speeds all summer long and all of you are welcome to drive down here and see it for yourselves. I will even take my upper and lower IM off at the track for you to see there is nothing plumbed into it.

 

Just dont listen to the idiots who make stupid posts. I know its annoying when people doubt you. Plenty of guys (myself included) believe what you say...

I know the guy in the Del Sol, he's not a tool like some of his buddies. His shift linkage is bent up and he made it worse on that run. But he may have been trying too hard on that run against me.

 

this is madness...now everybody is gonna think their 6 speed should run low 13's. im just dying to hear what you did with your IM, and i sure hope it can be done to a 4th gen VI.

 

Someone needs to bring me another 6 speed so I can put another car into that catagory.
