Yes, the Injen is around $300. Masybe it's good maybe it's bad. Just try it, it looks good and might sound great and give some performance gains.

This sure looks like an Injen ripoff to me. Try it! It may be worth the money!

Here's the concerns I may have:
1. Tubing smaller than the Injen? It looks like the throttle body fitting adapts the wider throttle body opening to the smaller intake tubing... and they conveniently positioned the throttle body fitting so you can't tell for sure if that's the case. Smaller tubing may help with low-end torque a little, but it might not give the maximum potential gains at the high-end... Still worth a try IMHO.

2. They don't list what brand of air filter is included. If it's a true K&N then that's very nice, but for the price I seriously doubt it.

3. Build quality of the metal. I'm not sure if this is a problem, but the metal looks kinda thin from the pic... might not cause a problem though.

Hell, even if the air filter sucks, you can always purchase a K&N to replace it. I still probably won't get one of these, because I want a PR CAI (for true cold air; an Injen or knockoff has to deal with radiant heat from the exhaust system heating it up and potentially heating up the air coming in...)

Someone on the org did try it. they say the filter sucks, and the intake was tying to hard to pull air inside. He said the stock intake was so much better.

I just put in my CAI, i had to order it direct from PR... it was about 230, you can get them from cattman for around 190. It sounds AWESOME and i like the real CAI part of it. Get that one and you wont regret it

For cold air intakes, if you dont have injen, cattman, etc....then from what i hear, you have to cut a hole to fit the piping down? Im not 100% sure, but thats wat i heard. Also, i have a Injen CAI for 2002-2003 maxima for sale if anyone is interested. 6000k miles on it and it comes with 2 filters if you want. check classified for more info and im asking $140+shipping.

I got a similar one off eBay. It works fine for me, sounds great and performs good. The filter really isn't that bad. It's a cotton filter and seems to be working alright. I got it because money is tight and I figured for $60 why not.

looks to be pretty much the exact same setup as my injen, except for the crappy filter. try it and write a review.

I got mine for $38 you are paying too much. Keep shopping. It is an Injen clone.

However, like most of the Ebay intakes, the filter is crap but that is easily remedied.

for the "injen clone" intakes, is it true that it requires cutting through ur wheel well? or does it fit straight down the opening like the injen does?

Its an Injen clone not a Place Racing clone. That means that its exactly the same shape and design as the Injen.

For that matter, what are the options for the PR CAI and possible clones? (is the Cattman intake a PR clone? anyone else make PR clones?)

The PR Clones are the same price or cheaper than the Injen clones on EBay. I also think they are superior because they are aluminum vs steel for the PR so they not only lighter but they dissipate heat faster.

Buying a clone is not bad, if it was 99% of us would be without computers.
