Clear side markers

I have been contemplating on clear side markers for my '02 max. I am not sure if I like the way they appear on a white Max, sometimes I really like it and times I think they make the car look bland. Any opinions...

My other question is that I recently had a gen 4 max. I had clears on the front bumper, but there were different styles and qualities. Are there different variations for Gen 5 as there were for Gen 4 (clear, diamond, smoked etc...)? And who sells the best quality ones for our Max?

Last but not least. At night the colors look faded throught all the clears I have seen for our Gen 5. Are there better bulbs to use? Red looks terribly pink at night and the amber looks like Pi$$ at night. Anyone know of better quality bulbs to get truer colors through these?

I appreciate the help on this.

I prefer clears only on the front on all colors on 2k2-2k3's. I think the clear rear marker look out of place with the amber blinker lens still in the tail (which can't be removed). Plus, I like the look of the red lens.

housecor, Seems I am on the same wavelength as you there. I am pretty sure this is what I will do.

Who sells the best quality front markers and what bulb do you think is best?

I was VERY disappointed with the quality of the Custommaxima lenses I received. The first had an ugly seal and the plastic housing for the bulb didn't fit securely at all. The second set I received had the exact same issues so I just decided to live with it. I used the bulb housing from my OEM lenses to resolve the fitment. I assume everyone is using the same manufacturer but am not sure. Hopefully I was the only one unhappy. One plus: no condensation issues.

I will say this, Custommaxima's explanation was: "These are cheap parts made in China - what do you expect?" Go elsewhere and hope for the best.

I got mine from SWA. Just seal the lenses after you receive them. I've had mine on for about 4 months with no condensation in them.

I put clear corners (front and back) on a couple of weeks ago. I think they make the look of the car a lot cleaner. No red and yellow cluttering up the glacier pearl paint.

I installed clear side markers with Polarg M4 white bulbs all around on my 2003 glacier pearl SE. The clear markers look fantastic, especially at night with the lights on. When installing the side markers, just remember, there is a marker designed specifically for the right and the left side of the car as well as the front and rear. Recommend that you contact SWA for your Maxima stuff. Alex and Steve are definitely customer oriented and they have good, competive prices.

SWA is Southwestautoworks. I don't remember exactly what I paid. Give them a call at 602-795-1800. Ask for Steve or Alex for maxima.org member pricing.

i prefer the clear lenses on the front only as well. had all 4 corners clear at one point but switched back to clears on the front and stock red on the rear. it looks better coordinated imo.

i have clears on the front only and i got them from custommaxima..i've had no fittment issues or any problems with them..i guess i got lucky on mine..i agree that some bulbs dont look so nice at nite..i have eurolite hyper whites and they look a little bluish and greenish but the bulb hasnt discolored..another route you can consider is LEDs for them..you can get them in white or red and amber..they look really nice and much better then bulbs..just gotta shave them a lil if you want it to spread more light.

Clear Corners!

My 2001 Maxima is the one on custommaxima.com. I think it looks alot cleaner and more eye catching with the all clear look. The front are actal stock corners that i cleared out myslf. and the rears i bought before custom maxima even had them. Didnt seal them and had condensation after about 8 months. Best bet is to seal them when you get them ang youll be fine.

Yeah man I have an Icelandic pearl Max and I put all four clear corners in. It looks nice. As for your concern about the rear lights, I use Red LED lights and it looks beautiful at night. FUUUUUUUYeah

I'm a fan of clears all around on a white/pearl car...as long as the proper amber/red bulbs are used - I can't stand any other color than the proper ones....to ricey, IMHO.

So I will be ordering clears from SWa for my icelandic pearl. Yuo guys talk about sealing them. What do yuo use to seal them and where does the sealer need to go?

Well since you asked bout them on a white max, might as well give a pic. I like them, but I also like the all white approach (hence the white grills). Dont think it makes the car look bland.

You use a silicone sealer and put it where the clear lense meets the housing.

I voted for all 4. But don't order from custommaxima.com. I ordered 4 clears and they took over two weeks to get here. And they never notified me what was going on. That was about 4 months ago. One month ago I got condensation in them and it burnt my bulb abd socket out. So I ordered new front clears from them and they screwed up my order AGAIN. I ordered on march 13 and they still aren't here!!!!

Bottom line: Get all 4 but not from custommaxima.com

thanks, I think I will do all 4 after all with l.e.d.'s. There are 2 other glacier 02-03 max's in my small town, so this will make mine a lil different from those...so, now... I wonder where is best place to purchase? I am very finicky about quality...
