2k2+ Bulb replacement>>>HELP

Hey guys,

I need to know if the clip goes around the bulb or the connector?
Reason being I tried putting back the bulb and it has been over an hr and I can not put it in. I though it went over the plastice connector. Then I put the bulb in without the connector and the clip went over it no probelm.
The only thing is the buld seems to be loose, I can move it around a little.

Is that normal?

Oh by the way I think I broke my bulb, the little rod on the side of the buld cracked . Did it brake?

No. it is the little rust looking rod that hangs off the side of the buld and goes down into the housing.

I figured out what I did wrong.

I should have put the bulb in first strap it down and then twist the cap on.
Everything is back together and the light still works. I am not sure for how long.
