What type of bulbs in gauges?

I would like the gauges to illuminate brighter than they are stock. Anyone know what kind of bulbs are back there and if they are able to be changed out?

Thanks!

IT was in a post a while ago, where i think they said using L E D bulbs
would do the trick. Don't remember where the post is or what bulb
number it is, hopefully someone can post that. this is the link i saved
hope it helps abit its a start . sorry i can't provide the rest of the info.

Thats interesting...I was under the impression that LEDs were not good in gauges because they don't have a good light "spread". Im wondering if the instrument LEDs on that page will do the trick.

I ordered an extra cluster to take apart and mess with. I'm going to try to put LED's in it. I'll be cutting the tips to disperse the light a little better. I'll inform on how it goes.

Sounds good...I'm also hoping that the bulbs are the same between 2k and 2k2 gauges.

IIRC, the bulbs in the 2k2/3 are not the same as in the 2k/1.

If I use LED's I'm going to have to find out which wire is my illumination wire. I'll need to put a resistor in line. Anyone happen to have a wiring diagram of this or would happen to know this off hand. It'll save me a lot of time with the meter.
