Oxygen Sensor-WHat the ????
Is it just me or does everyones oxygen sensors go one by one, stabbing you in the wallet one at a time like a dull knife right after the warranty is up.
62K SES light comes on 260.00
67K SES light comes on 280.00
70k SES light comes on 260.00
I guess the good knews is that there is only oxygen sensor left to replace
Is this normal I have an 01 20th Anniverssary Maxima
Any other things I should be warned about that will go in the near future other than my brakes?? I just rolled 70k
Let me know
Thank you

sorry to bring up an old topic, i just happened to stumble upon this one searching for an older thread I had made about a problem with an Infinity I30.
Its not only you, right now my moms I30 is in the shop cause the check engine light came one, well it turns out 2 more O2 sensors went bad. This wouldnt be such an issue if this isnt the 4th and 5th ones have have been bad, not to mention the first two went bad before the car had 25,000 on it, and 1 other has been replaced between now and then. The car now only has about 65,000 on it.
Oh yeah, not to mention the car was there about a month ago cause the left rear brake caliper was bad, so that got replaced. Now the right rear wheel bearing was bad according to the deal, PLUS they wanted $140 for some updated computer program. Yeah............right.

Yea these O2 sensors very from time to time, it all depends on the air fuel mixture ratio. Most of the time the O2 sensor is not the problem, the code comes out to be and o2 problem so this is what the tech sees and then tells the service writer and they upsale the product. They charge 1 hr diag time and 1 hr install time. After they install new sensor they clear code and all is good. But in reality all you need to do is do an idle air relearn along with an ecm update that takes a half an hour to do. These are an on going issue. My 01 SE Anniversary Max, has its 02 sensors going on and off all the time, after like three days it goes off. I believe its from certain weather conditon due to alot of the ecm being programed for CALI specs.

well unfortunately, I believe they have already replaced the O2's and my mom told them to take their ECM reprogram and shove it, basically. She feels that if its a problem caused by Nissan/Infiniti not doing it right in the first place and they finally came out with a fix, the reprogram should be free, I agreed.
I guess she'll see what happens now and if it happens again, I might just take it to the local Nissan dealer instead of her driving 50 mins to the Infiniti dealer and have them feed her a lot of BS.
