I'm having stupid problems with my new rims on my car. All you 2k3'ers out there should be aware of this. Looks like on the front I'll need hubcentric rings for sure. I don't know if the 2k2's need them but the org member I bought these rims off of did not know and the rims don't have any rings inside them so I'm guessing that 2k2's don't have this problem. This means 2k2 and 2k3 hubs are different... I submitted a question to HP Racing but they haven't got back to me yet.
On the back I have pictures for what I'm talking about...

Here is the wheel hub. That dumba$$ dome in the middle is preventing the wheels from seating on the hub properly.
Here you can see the gap between the wheel and the hub. sucks

Here's the bastard blocking my rims going around the hub.

I'm guessing I need spacers back there but it looks like I'll need some 10 to 15mm spacers. Any 2k3's have these problems? Thanks for tuning in...

I had that problem with my old 17s in the rear , mines was almost good so i banged around the edge with a hammer evenly and it fit fine.
Does look like a 03 thing. Thanks for the suggestion, maxspeed96CT, but I want to see if there is another solution rather than to bang the thing smaller. Anybody else have experience with this problem can chime in? I wanna what you guys tried to solve the cap problem

On my 2K2 at least, I have the dome in the front, and the bolt/cotter pin in the back.Originally Posted by 2k2whitemaxi

Can someone explain hubcentric rings real quick? It seems like for this problem, a spacer would solve it?

A hub centric ring would just adapt your wheel's bore to the hub snout that it needs to go around. That way it doesn't leave space between your wheel and the hub snout and make your wheels vibrate at high speeds. I also heard that not being centered can damage your wheel bearings.Originally Posted by Triple8Sol

I had that same problem with my Axis Hagens. All I did was rounded it with a hammer till I got it on. All it is is a grease cap but you don't want to take it off. I would take pics but I haven't put my wheels on yet. I believe 5 mm spacer should work but I haven't tried it yet since they also are sitting in my room.Originally Posted by looslip
bump. still need help. Will 5mm spacers solve my problems in the back or should I just go 15mm to be safe?
hard enough to dent it. It's not hard to do just use metal hammer and round the edge of the dust cap where it first starts to go towards the brake rotor. If you can wait till morning/afternoon I will take off my wheel and take some pics.

I would certainly appreciate that. Thanks.Originally Posted by MyownNismo

Well Since my battery is dead on my camera I couldn't get a pic. I will get you pics tommorrow after I go get a new battery. Hope you don't mind waiting a little more.

I'll look next weekend when I install the JICs
It does seem that most people are saying that they have the dome on the fronts rather than the back. Maybe they put my car together wrong...Originally Posted by NT2SHBBY

that explains it all...you bought the CALI edition

Okay, so apparently the problem is with my wheels not my car... Turbo95max checked it out and found out that offset is wrong. If I bash in the dust cap it will look hella ugly sticking out of the center hole. If I get spacers the wheel will be nearly sticking out of the fender well. So my question is, how did maxracer27 get them to fit so well. He did mention that he took the caps off but from what I hear thats a bad idea. So I'm in this dilema where I'm frustrated even thinking about this and I think I need to return these wheels to him. What are your opinions? Should he take the wheels back?

Thats what I had initially thought. I'll need to take my rims to a wheel shop to get measured. What do you guys think about removing the dust caps? Maxracer27 had done it and drove around for 6 months without problems but I want to know if this will ultimately mess up my car. I'm pretty bummed that these new wheels won't go on right. I'm feeling like I should have just paid the extra 3 or 400 bucks to go with bigh's group deal. Originally Posted by MacAlert

Did you notice if you had a dust cap on the rear hubs or on the front?Originally Posted by K Pazzo 6

looslip, I got the same problem with my 18's. No dome on the front but dome on the back and I have a 2k2. If other Maxima have caps on front and nothing on back or cap on back and nothing on the front, then it should be alright to remove them all together, correct?Originally Posted by looslip

all you have to do is go to a wheel shop that drills or grinds rims and they should be able to grind the hub of the rim a few mm's, i know a place in atl that would do it but your on all the way on the west coast, but there should be some shops up there that can do it
