Let me ask you this since you are a police officer. Is it true that you guys have ticket quota? There's certain number of tickets you need to give out by end of the month?

$100 for having clear license plate cover. Super

Definitely going to court for this.
WOW, that sucks! Sorry to hear about that, but I defintely agree with your decision to take it to court. Personally, I would keep that tint as long as I could and only if it became a problem (u know, like being pulled over every month, or every couple months...) then would I take it off. Didnt you say you went like a year with it on before you even got pulled over for it?

Hope this gets resolved for you.

I had my tint for about 6 months without getting pulled over. I just can't believe $100 for having clear license plate cover. I did not want people to steal my tabs

Steal your tabs huh? Has that been a problem for you? Anyways, $100 seems quite excessive. Is it one of those covers that is kinda dark and is supposed to block radar-cameras or something from seeing your license plate? What kind of grounds do they have against a clear license plate cover then?

BTW, where did you get your tint done at? I have heard of some places making packages for their tint (they generally cost a little more than standard one time tinting) so that if you get a ticket or something you can take it back there and they will remove it and you can show the court you had it removed, and then you can take it back to the tint place and they reapply it. My bf originally had that with his Taurus but I think that that particular shop quit doing that. But maybe the place that did yours does? Or you can just take it to court, pay the ticket and fight the stupid plate cover one and in the end, keep your tint.

Well I've been to court for my black tinted window and everytime I went to court, I won w/ my eye doctor's note.

What should I say when I go to court about clear license plate cover?

Do you think you would tell them it was to keep ppl from taking you tabs? If that's the reason you have it, I would go with that. Just my personal opinion, but I don't have any experience dealing with that so I have no real idea what to tell you.

NT2SHBBY - Why, you don't like it? I think it looks pimp, to be honest, and in American-car land up here, where there are at least 2 Tauruses at every stoplight, it's defintely distinguished from the rest. Too much for most Taurus-drivers, I'm sure, but oh well. (P.S. the car has been sold as of two days ago, so no longer anything either of us can do about it now).

I believe its 70% in front and anything behind the drivers head, so pretty much anything is illegal up front, although I've only known a couple people get messed with for 20% and no one for 35%. Oh yeah and the windshield can come down to the AS1 line, or about 6 inches.
