Trunk bar broke! How can I fix it?

One of my bars that takes the weight off the trunk lid, has snapped near the end. The metal lip that holds the bar bent down. I bent it back up but how can I put the bar back on? I don't think that just by me bending the lip back up will support it for long. Any suggestions on what I should do?

It's very hard to snap it back on. it happened to me on my first car, I coudln't even get it back on, that i had to take it to the dealer to have it fix, it cost me like 30 bucks for them to get it back on with some kind of tool.

Would it be possible to use an actuator and use 2 spare channels on my remote to activate it each way. How hard would the installation of an actuator be?
