Fuel Filter replacement, need tips

I do know this is in the gas tank. I've been told that there may
or may not be an access cover in the trunk, I assume under the spar
tire. If anyone has changed theirs, please let me know the specifics.
Can I get a FRAM filter, or do I need a Nissan filter and are there
any special tools, gaskets, etc. I may need.
thanks for the help.
Mike

No this cannot be gotten from anywhere else. Has to be from the dealer. It is under the rear seat. There is an access hole there for the fuel pump assembly. No special tools besides the standard philips screwdriver and nose pliers.

NEVER buy anything Fram. Allied Signal/Honeywell is CRAP!

The filter is under the seat in and access hole. There are a few writeup in the FAQS to read up on to be sure you know whats up. Its not very hard...but you have to be patient and work slowly.

Good Luck!

The typical parts are the filter (Fuel Strainer Assembly), around $15, and the O-ring which goes between the upper lip of the fuel sending unit (which includes the upper half of the plastic fuel chamber, along with the actual electrical sender & fuel temperature sensor) and the fuel tank.

Total shouldn't exceed maybe $26 shipped. Go through DAVEB (find his phone# in the stickies at the top, forgot which one...), he's a parts guy at South Point Nissan down in Texas... call the # in the stickies and ask for Dave Burnette. He'll hook you up.
