Is the underbody "plastic" necessary?
Is the underbody "plastic" necessary?
When I was removing the headlights, I needed to get under the car to mess w/the brackets so in trying to remove the black plastic protector underneath the car near the fog lights, the bolt broke due to rust. So I tried pulling back the black plastic under the fog light area and the part w/the whole where the bolt is broke. Anytime I go over 60mph, the wind causes the plastic to go back all the way under & rub against the wheels.
Anyway, is it ok to cut part of that black plastic enough so that wind won't cause it to bend back? Doing so would essentially ensure that there was nothing under the pass. foglight area. Is there anything to worry about if I cut it (water, snow, etc) ? I have it temp. secured w/tape but that isn't going to last long. It's hard to explain, but hopefully ppl who've been under the car know what I'm talking about.
