my friend just got a 01 max and from what i understand, there is plenty of noise during braking and moreso when letting up. im at a dead end as far as that goes. i would greatly appreciate it if someone could offer some words of knowledge my way! thanx!

if your friend hears a noise while he is off the brakes, then its most likely the low pad indicator. tell him to get the pads looked at and most likely replaced.

 

I hate the metal grinding noise. This is what i found out after i replace my rear pads.

1. brake pad is getting too thin
2. The outer shim and inner shim both have been eaten through(cracks)

Replace the both shims when you do the pads. Buy it from the Nissan Dealer, they only sell in a pack, something like the shim pack......
