Where can I get a MAF sensor?

Sorry Guys, search won't work for me for some reason. Anyways, I need a new MAF sensor. Where can I get one and how much should I expect to pay? Thanks for your quick responses. I gotta get this baby fixed by tomorrow.

Yes, and its a lot cheaper than buying a new one if it works.

1)Unscrew MAF with security torx bit.
2)Using a Q-Tip and some rubbing alcohol/brake cleaner gently wipe the filament looking piece. (Looks like the inside of a light bulb).
3)Reinstall and test.

Total cost: $0.00

is that safe? what thread/website did you learn this procedure from?

i don't get why people are replacing their MAFs if cleaning it is really that easy.

Been doing it for years on every car I own. With the Maxima, sometimes you can clean it and sometimes it is beyond repair. For some reason, everyone on this site goes straight to buying a new one without trying.

How many have you tested? What was the current being sent before and after? What code was in your ECU?

MAFs do not "blow" like a bomb. A MAF can get oil/dirt on the filament which will interfere with the signal being sent to the ECU...its that simple. Clean it and test it, if it doesn't work then replace it (there was something else wrong with it).

Using your logic:
I guess you replace your car when you have a flat.

Funny how you're the one "blowing" MAFs and I'm running just fine. If your car sends a "Check Engine", I guess that means it's time to replace it. You must work for Nissan.

Aside from you making more of an *** of yourself...how does it hurt to clean it before committing to the replacement? If you don't have the technical ability, just say so.

I'll pose my questions again that you bypassed:

How many have you tested? What was the current being sent before and after? What code was in your ECU?

The conversation ended when you spoke. Be sure not to clean your throttle body, injectors, or air filter...your car will be the shizzle.

You still didn't answer my questions. I guess your "skills" don't go beyond "Mom, buy me a new sensor."

woohoo my simple comment started a flame war...come on guys this is a simple difference between maintenance and repair, although i agree that it doesn't hurt to try cleaning the MAF sensor before replacement. that is all...

This cleaning method works fine but I use air compressor and it did the job for me.
Works great.

Its pretty obvious you're going to ignore the insults hurled by 2k2whitemaxi, so I won't try to reason with you.

By asking what his "technical skill" was for testing the MAF....I am hardly child. If it saves someone $80 - $100 for a new MAF, I'll gladly be the one to inject reason (attempting a $0 solution) into the argument (replacing a part).

As I said in my first post, there may be other problems with cause for replacement but there is nothing lost by attempting a cleaning.

Here is what I do, got this from a VW site and have used this procedure for 2 years now and it works great.

I don't think it is a good idea to physically touch the MAF sensor with anything other than Isopropyl Alcohol. I have cleaned mine a few times by putting it in a large ziplock bag and filling it up with Isopropyl Alcohol (99%) so that about 1/2 of the MAF is submerged. Then I shook it up and transferred it to another ziplock bag and repeated the process. Then let it air dry.
