Coils 00 max

Well.. now its my turn to replace coils..
Question... replace 1 or all?
I don't wanna spend $500 on coils ;-)
the cheapest price i found is $300 for a set.
Any places that carry these cheaper?

Diagnosing an individual coil can be extremely difficult unless one coil is bad all the time. If coils intermittently cut out or if more than one is bad, troubleshooting is much harder. I gave up and bought all six. But in hindsight, if I did it again I probably would have cut my costs by 1/3 and bought two front and two rear coils. Then I would just troubleshoot with the remaining two cylanders with the expectation that at least one of the three original coils both front and back still work 100%. If you find only one coil of the original set of three is bad, you will even have a second back-up if your last originally-installed coil eventually fails.

I got mine in Canada for about CA$32 each. That is about US$24.
This is from a Canadian Nissan dealer.
Part numbers are the same.
If you live near the border, it is well worth the drive.

Did you call DAVEB? He usually has good prices. Personally, I will probably replace the remaining 5 when the next one goes out... and its going to happen soon

How do you know when you need to replace your coils? Is there a certain mileage? When they fail, do they make the car inoperable? Thanks in advance.

I got my new coils from twllin in the 5th gen FS in a week... Great Seller... I think he might be able to get more.

I saw a great improvement on my 2k1 with 84K, no ses light (for coils at least). I figured it was time and the car was running sh*ty.
