Car bottomed out..front pipe shields?

Every time I accelerate to like ~20mph+ and then quickly let off the pedal, I get this rattling noise. So I went to the dealer & they said the car bottomed out and the front pipe shields were damaged and bent. Also said you can't just replace the shields, you'd have to buy the $900 headpipe. So does anyone know (a) if this will cause any long-term problems b/c I can deal w/the rattle, and (b) if those shields are easy to replace if I can somehow find them somewhere?

I'm on Teins + Tokico's..the dealer said there would be no long term effects..but just want to make sure. They may just be saying that to rip me off later on in a big way if it causes a major problem.

If it's the bottom of the heat shield remove it. I broke two bolts that hold the heat shield on when putting my stock y back on and just took the whole thing off! I haven't had any problems.

Or if that bothers you, take the 900 the dealer wants buy an aftermarket Y 200-300 and install that = no heat shield! Oh sorry ur a 2k3, get headers yeah! No seriously jack your car up and take a look see if it's just the bottom of the shield that makes the noise and take off the bolts (~4) that hold it on. No more noise.
