2K1 to 2K2 HID upgrade ......

How dramatic is the improvement in lighting when going from stock halogen to 2002 HID lighting?

Other than the 2K2 lights (with HID bulbs and ballast), what else is required to make the swap?

How long do the OEM HID bulbs last?

Finally, for those who've done it - was it worth it?

TIA
Ron

If I had the money I would buy them. I've been in cars with HID's and the difference between that and halogens is like the difference between night and day (no pun intended). Having them stolen is my only concern.

Lighting is much much much brighter than the stock 00-01 lights. You would need a wiring harness, 2k2 mounting clips and a write-up for the swap. The $1300 for the HID courtesynissan.com has is crazy. I'm glad I paid less then half of that for mine.

Gsilk - Connecticut doesn't have the HID theft problem. I see 02/03's all the time with the HID's around here in Farmington. It's NY and NJ that have the problem.

I do a good bit of traveling to those parts. I have family in NJ. Thank God for EZ-Pass! where did you get the 2k2 lights from?

I'm even worried about upgrading my 01 front to projectors, let alone HIDs. You know that some shmuck is going to think they're HIDs and try to lift them. Lousy f**kers.

i'm running a Phillips HID kit, and there is definately a difference between these and the stock halogens. other than the wiring harness all you need is bulbs/ballasts.

the visability with HIDs is much more distributed and even. it doesn't really look like you're shining a light at what's in front of you; more like the stuff in front of you is just visable for some reason....kinda like a football field at night.
