Has anyone had any experience with using a Haltech computer in the 2K Maxima? They say their E6K model is compatible and will work.

Do you have any info on where you got this from (i.e. SCC, Turbo, Super Street, etc.)?

Question is why? If you engine is na, it probably can't do any more than a modded ecu would. Even stage 1 and 2 on the Stillen SC doesn't need ecu tweaks. If you going mega boost then it's worth it. If not then the price probably doesn't justify the costs. Interesting that they made one for the maxima though.

Haltech said the E6K would work w/ the Max's ECU.. the reason I was looking into it was to modify the fuel cut issue w/ the 5 speed as well as possibly increasing the efficiency of the fuel map/timing to utilize higher octane fuel..etc.

The Haltech computers are addon parts as far as I know which splice into the wiring harness. The factory ECU would take care of ABS..etc.

Interesting. How much does it cost? Over $1500 or so right?

Because the maxima's engine has been detuned at least the 4th gens were. The only way to get the max performance out of the extra mods on your car is to change your fuel and timming with some sort of ecu tuner.

The reason why stillen's SC doen't need ecu tweaks is, the stock timming is set conservatively. I believe the JWT/G-force ecu adv the timming on the highend about 8 deg. That would be the last thing you would want to do when your adding extra boost.

haltech should work for our cars but is it really worth it to pay 900 for the comp and 3-400 for dyno? well if you do decided to get haltech then maybe think about accel dfi, its slightly cheaper.

Blade, this guy has boost already? I think he's na right? So would the cost of the Haltech be worth the gains? I never said anything about advancing the timing while boosting.
