Y-Pipe with stock catback?

I eventually want to get an Berk Intake and probably a Budget Y-pipe. My question is, will adding the Y-Pipe, but keeping the stock catback make it any louder? The last thing I want is for my car to sound like a fart can. I do not want my car to be louder than stock, but I can deal with it just slightly louder.

Get a B-pipe to go along with your Y-pipe and and keep the stock muffler section. Your car will still be quiet and benifit from HP gain.

The thing is the B-pipe on our cars have horrible crushed section (I think 2 crushed sections on mine) and its restrictive as hell.

What do you mean by "quiet." Will it be just a little louder than stock, or noticebly louder. Do you know anywhere where I can find a sound clip of this?

Yea I like the sound of an intake, I just hate the sound of aftermarket mufflers, unless its a V8.

That's what I'm going to do. Y-Pipe, B-Pipe, and stock muffler. I've heard good things about this set up. Y-Pipe is here, B-Pipe should be here in a couple days. I will post my impressions after install. Also, will be going to the track Saturday May 1st. Wonder what I can get out of her ... ?? lol
