2k2 Rotors Are warped: What to replace with?

Ok, today i took a look at my 2k2 rotors( all 4 of them) and all of them are warped. Front ones are worser than the back.

Ok, i need some advice with what i should do? I want to get new rotors but dont want OEM ones. any ideas? does brembo make replacement rotors for 2k2 maxima?

Your only choice for good rotors are PowerSlot rotors.

stillen do offer cross drilled for our 02+ max, I heard stillen ones do warped. If I were you I would buy the powerslot. or you can get the BlemCo kit- bracket for $128 to put the 04 max rotor in.

what is the driving style of you guys who are warping the rotors? i know its a 5th gen problem, but i have 17K on my 02 and drive them hard, but they are not warped. They pads are 3/4s down though! I plan on doing the 6th gen upgrade, seems like the cheapest and best alternative...

If there is someone like me with little money, what would be a cheaper alternative than crossdrilled??

The difference in the calipers? I don't know. The difference in the rotors is 11.5" vs 12.6". The 2k2 rotors are also thicker. BlemCo puts together an awesome kit. I haven't had a chance to put my 2k4 rotors and brackets on yet, but so far everyone has been very impressed with this kit.

I got my Axxis Metal Masters from there, $45 shipped, those guys rock

But Jessica told me she couldn't find the Metal Masters for the fronts... said it looked like they didn't even make them for the 2000 Maxima. I found them (under the brand name PBR, but that's the same as Axxis/Repco) at importrp.com, and they should arrive today. I'll have to see if they are indeed the right pads (fitment/etc).

But Jessica did say they have the Axxis Ultimates available for $80 shipped, pads for all 4 corners of the vehicle.
This was a couple weeks ago. FWIW here's Axxis' website: http://www.axxisbrakes.com
Check out the "Technical" section... they have relative comparisons of the features of Axxis' different line of pads.

I've got PowerSlot slotted rotors and Hawk street pads coming, and plan to install them as soon as they get here. I'll let you guys know how they are. As for the cross drilled, I've been told by many people in the brake industry that unless you autocross, slotted is the better way to go. Cross-drilled tend to have problems with craking.

Ouch. From what everyone has posted on the org the Hawks are extremely loud pads.

Hawks are loud.... Now you tell me, AFTER the order was placed... But anyway, thanks for the warning. Good thing pads are not that expensive. We'll see how that combination works.

They are supposed to have tenacious grip I bought the Raybestos QS pads and to tell you the truth, I don't like them. They have virtually no dust. They do squeek just a tad bit. They stop no better than stock pads. Stock pads are very quiet.

I have heard really good things about these. I don't have them yet. But you can get these in drilled or slotted or both

This by far is the best brake setup that I have run and I have been through them all. You name it and I done it when it comes to brakes I have a set of the slotted frozen rotors and I coupled them with some Performance Friction Z-rated pads. The z-rated pads don't work as well as Performance Frictions carbon metallic until they warm up. One or two stops warms them up, however, when I am on the freeway the pads get an opportunity to cool and which can increase stopping distance a little.

I think that the best setup for the street is the frozen rotors with the PF's carbon metallic pad. I run both pads and the CM are incredible even when they are ice cold. It's like the G25 brakes, really GRABBY.

As far as rotors, I've had the brembo blanks (drilled) and what a POS. They warped faster than a record (LP) in the sun. Besides that they were way too loud. I have the Stillen's on the rear right now and they are just ok. Frozen rotors are the way to go. Don't drill them, just slot them. They still make noise slotted but not as bad as when they are drilled.

the BlehmCo BBK kit. Matt Blehm (Matt93SE) designed and sells them, either the bracket alone (~$150) or w/ rotors (forgot how much, something around 300-400ish). You can install new pads at the same time if you'd like.

I agree. CHanging rotors will do nothing. Have to upgrade the size to keep warping from happenning again. Remember, brake rotors are nothing more than heat sinks. Nothing more. The bigger the sink, the greater the heat capacity. I am getting a BlehmCo kit and waiting on the new Power Slot rotors for the 04 Max. They are in predevelopment at the moment.

I have to disagree with your statement that changing rotors will do nothing. You don't have to upgrade the size to keep your rotors from warping. Just get yourself some frozen rotors. I think that I am the only person who believes in this. Well, me and professional racers. Check out their site and judge for yourself. They are the best rotors that I have owned to this day, except for my 13" Brembo Big Brake Kit.

I've been pushing Frozen Rotors since I've been on this site. They are absolutely wonderful. My truck's front rotors have not been changed in over 2 years (using the Frozen Rotors standard front rotors). No warpage of any kind, and honestly, no real wear either. They are the Superman of rotors...

Thats weird- on the frozen rotor site they say they don't make 02-03 max rotor. But, they make 04 max rotor. I guess I will have to get the blem co kit.

Finally, VALIDATION. Way to go Quicksilver! You see everyone, you don't have to put some heavy rotor on your car to stop the warping problems. Why would you want to add to unsprung weight. I've done the powerslot, Brembo blanks, Stillen plated and they all suck compared to a frozen rotor.

If you don't see the rotor for your vehicle, give them a call. I'm sure that they have what you need. It's not like their building the rotor from scratch. They take already made rotors and treat them.

Or get bigger frozen rotors... i.e. frozen 2k4 rotors + BlehmCo

Shame I don't want to spend more than DAVEB's price of $170-ish for my rotors...

Besides, it's not the ROTORS that warp, it's the pads shedding their damn material onto the rotor surface, thanks to excessive heat.
