Should i keep my springs or get new ones

I have eibachs and they are pretty harsh. i also am riding on stock struts. i am going to get new struts and it would be very easy to buy a pair of new springs and not have to take off the eibach from the OEM shocks. I want a softer ride but i also want to have between a 1.3" drop(eibachs) and 1.8". I also do not want the back wheel tucked in. My eibach are almost perfect except the front could stand to be a little lower. i was thinking of three other types of springs just because of cost: maxspeed, dropzone, and suspensiontech. I do not want H&R's because they are to expensive. h-tech is a possibility but they are pretty expensive

I went from eibach to H&R to Progress

Eibachs were too stiff
H&Rs rode great but weren't low enough
Progress are a bit stiffer than H&R but the drop is perfect. I recommend these.

I am riding on Maxspeeds right now and I am not happy with them. I am considering H&R's and Progress. H&R's for the smooth ride quality and Progress for the looks. Could you give additional details on the differences between the two and what struts you were running at the time.

Thanks

Why are you not happy with your maxspeeds

I've been on Tokico HPs with both the H&Rs and the Progress. Handling is great with both springs, but the ride did get 5-10% stiffer w/ the Progress. I prefer a smoother ride, but the Progress didn't depreciate the ride quality that much compared to the H&R, and the drop looks 100 time better.

Compared to Eibach, both springs are significantly smoother.

The ride is OK. They are not performance springs but they do ride pretty smoothly. Tighter than stock but with less control.

Ratings out of 10
Ride Comfort 8.5
Performance (car control) 6
Ride Height 6

On bumps the Maxspeeds settle quicker than stock. You feel more of the road but I noticed that on high speed cornering the car actually wobbled a little.

Progressive springs like H&R should offer better performance than Maxspeeds. If I chose Progress it would be for the looks only.

It sounds like you're more into the look of the lowered car more than performance. Try the Tein H-Techs combined w/Tociko Illuminas. The H-Techs give it a nice lowered front stance that you are looking for while the Illuminas will make up for the "lack" of performance of the springs. I'm not saying the H-Techs suck...I just think they aren't as performance oriented compared to the Eibachs.
With my H-Techs and Illuminas set at a stiffness of 1 all around and with stock 17's it rides like stock. Check out my cardomain page for pics:

Also call up Alex or Steve at Southwest Autoworks to see if they can give you a deal on springs and struts. Good luck!

Every side profile pic I have seen of the H-techs, the front was lower than the back.
