K & N air filters

I just recently had my airflow meter replaced and had software for the new meter downloaded to my computer(2000 SE). The dealer told me the K & N filter would not work with my airflow meter. The meter was too sensitive. The filter let to much dirt thru. Do I have to get an after market meter? I am doing something wrong with the air filter(ie. not enough oil on the filter)?

What year vehicle?

Either way, I call on that. I've used a K&N since last summer when I bought my car, and I haven't had a single problem. I have cleaned my MAF sensor though.

Your not going to see any increases with the K&N filter and it blows at stopping dirt. Buy an Amsoil foam filter. It's pretty cheap, gets just as good of air flow and stops dirt better than a paper filter.

So how much kick back are you gettin' from Amsoil bro? I hope its at least a free case of filters....

I get no kickback from Amsoil and I don't sell it. I have used both filters throughout my life and the Amsoil foam filters never left any dirt on the "other side" where dirt wasn't supposed to go. The K&N always does. I would say that a properly wetted Amsoil foam filter would stop just as much dirt as an oem paper filter while maintaining better airflow.

I have a Berk Intake with an Apexi filter. Again, bypassing the K&N for the better filtering media. Albeit at twice the cost this time.

It really does amaze me when you praise a company that sells through multilevel, people always think your trying to sell them something or "you've been brainwashed". This despite seeing test after test showing the product surpassing many others.
