whiney noise on hard acceleration

whiney noise on hard acceleration

Started to notice this ..whenever I accelerate hard , i get a whiny noise coming from the engine area...any ideas? This happens at all gears...
Apart from that I get whine from my belt too when cold/wet..so don't know if they are related.

I've heard this during mild acceleration when the car is very cold (e.g. <25F outside), but not under moderate temperature under any conditions.

I have also heard that it is the air coming through the throttle body that causes the whistle. That is why it gets louder with the intake because there is more air coming through...
