The temp gauge moves? Serious issues there. Wonder if either the thermostat is bad or the gauge is bad.

it almost sounds like the power to the gauge is cut when you shift. funny thing is, it has nothing to with the shift **** or even transmission.

dixit, if it were an actual cooling issue i am sure you would feel it.

Slightly low coolant? It could slosh away from the sensor causing no reading during accel.
Sometimes the plastic over flow jug wont do it
pull the high pressure cap (cold engine only) and try to put more coolant in.

Part of the deal is you HAVE to post back when it is fixed and tell us what the problem was.

I think MickMax is on the right track. Check the fluid level in the radiator and top off as necessery. My dad's Yukon had a similar problem. It was a combo of lowish coolant and stuck thermostat.

Good luck

ok this is what i found out....all the fluids are full...so i drove it around a bit and noticed that it goes down when ever there is torque to the motor...so i stopped by my uncles garage and he was thinking that the wire going to the sensor was loose due to the motor rocking back and forth while shifting....and that makes sence to me...now alls i have to do is find the sensor....any one know where it is in out cars...thanks tim

That is my other choice. If you follow the upper rad hose down to the v of the engine it should be right there just past the elbow

It makes sense because the engine is moving probably 3/4 inch under torque
and even further under brake torque.
