AE accelerator pedal install help- 2k2

I think I am missing a part. I know the bar goes in between these two brackets, but doesn't something click over the bar onto these little brackets? Otherwise, nothing will hold it down. I don't care how much electrical tape you wrap around it. If there is nothing holding it down, then it won't work.

asu174, You are correct. There is a small plastic u-shaped clip that goes over the shaft and catches on the two ears either side. The tape is just to take up the slack due to different diameters of the shafts. The clip actually looks like the one on the original plastic pedal, except it's not permanently attached at one side, it's loose.

MaxArt is right about the clip. I did this a long time ago and can't remember if the clip is on the 2k2 petal or the new AE petal you have. Either way the AE petal attaches exactly like your 2k2 was, except for you have to wrap about 2.5 times around the shaft with electrical tape.

Well the 2k2 stock clip definitely doesn't fit. I tried a million times. There's no way. I e-mailed them to see what they say.....

Where did you order from?

I got mine from Courtesy Nissan, and when you buy from them, you get the entire assembly, so I didn't have to worry about missing parts. Some other dealers will sell you just the pedal which may be missing the clip and the little rubber boot that fits at the end of the accelerator assembly main bar.

Peace.

That's what I thought I ordered. I got it from Jerry Rome.

If I remember correctly, Jerry Rome Nissan's website once posted a picture of the 20th Anniversary pedals they sold, and it only showed the pedals...no assembly. So they might only be offering the pedal.

Looking at their site, they mention that the part number is 18016AB010 for '20TH ANNIV EDITION ACCEL PEDAL.' However on my label for the part I got from Courtesy Nissan, the part number is 18005-4Y900 and the description is 'LEVER ASSY-ACCE.'

Give them a call anyway. Good luck.

Peace.

I just installed my AE pedals the other day. I bought them (brand new) off someone else, and it didn't come with that clip.

I took a utility knife and cut the black plastic clip off the stock accel, and trimmed it down b/c it was too tall on one side.

It works perfectly.

I was going to do that too, but I didn't feel like trimming that piece. Oh well, I just did it and it fits perfectly. Thanks!
