Ive noticed lately that the idle tone of my car resembles a diesel motor. Its that heavy note after every revolution (wish i could record the sound). And also, when i engage the clutch, the noise becomes muffled, but when i disengage it, the idle returns back to its noisy self.

Ive had the clutch replaced twice as the TSB directed, so by deduction i am presuming that the noise could be flywheel related, which is something that the dealerships don't cover under warranty. Then again i cannot be certain that it IS the flywheel.

Finally, when I turn the car off after heated driving, i will hear a whistle emitting from the motor, God knows from where. It sounds like pressure releasing, although i shouldnt be hearing that from the car.

Here's my attempt that duplicating the sound...
Idle: Reh, Reh, Reh, Reh, Reh,
Shutting off engine: Reh, Reh, Reh, eeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeee...

And this car once ran so silent... first year model vehicles have soo many kinks to get out. It going back to the dealer service for sure.

I have the exact same problem with my 5 speed. When I press the clutch, it is smooth and quiet but when I lift up the clutch pedal, the sound comes. I also have that gas release sound too. Let me know what you find out.

I always thought it was time to replace the clutch but the car never slips.
