Yeah, I saw this one a while ago. It has 80 mm piping which is like 3.2 inches. Be good for those going FI in the future.

Too bad they dont make a full titanium one, like they do for the Z.....You can pick that one up with one hand.

Damn, this is exacly what I was going to ask about. I seen a 4th gen JIC Magic exhaust for sale on Ebay at one point and I thought maybe I can somewhat rig it up. Totally forgot to ask if its possible. Now about the 80mm piping, I'm not sure if they can get 80mm pipe going above the rear suspension on our cars- unless they don't route it that way. I have a 2.5" catback on mine and there aint much room above the rear axle for anything much bigger. It will bang if it does fit.... hmmm I need a new exhaust and I might just try this one

I seriously doubt the picture of a 5th gen exhaust would be on that site. I seen JIC Magic exhausts for S13/S14s and they look just like this one. Its just a generic picture of a JIC system. Why would they sell ya a 600 dollar exhaust system that wouldn't fit our cars ? I would like to see the actuall thing thou.. maybe theirs goes somehow through the axle... now that got me thinking.... need to go put the car on the lift right now... take some pictures of it.

I'm friends with the owner of that site his name is steve. He wouldn't sell you something that wouldn't fit our cars. I'll email him and ask if that is what the exhaust for the max looks like.

Please ask him to take pics ! and measure the piping for us. 80mm seems kinda large for a NA engine unless we where powered by a VK56DE like a Titan, we don't need 3" catbacks. Group deal ???? I need a new cat-back ASAP.

Im sure that picture is not for the Max... I near that shop everyday on the way home from work. If he has one in stock, I could stop by and take pictures of it.

Man $600+ is too much for an exhaust. I can make my own for much cheaper.

so its rice even if it puts out more HP than any other exhaust out there ? How is Greddy not rice then ? I'ma big fan of these angled exhausts on S13s and S14s- they make alot of power and are high quality to the boot.

Only because you have it. In all seriousness, $600+ seems a bit high for a catback IMO.

IS is going to sound way diff than a VQ engine. IS is a straight 6 motor vs our V6. Its like sayn Apexi exhaust for a 300ZX TT sounds the same on a BCNR32 GT-R... not. But I still wanna hear it as I just got a hold of some major dough and wouldnt mind spending it on a bling bling balla exhaust. My Magnaflow is falln apart.

Sorry BlackBirdvQ, the site is still not working as of 11:10 pm eastern time. If and when it comes up , go to it and do a search for the JIC exhaust clip. Oh about the 2jz -GE , my wife owns a 01 MSM Auto bone stock http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/229277/2. This is the reason that I am over at the IS 300 .net site.
I am aware of the innacurate comparison , but this is the exact catback JIC Spartan DE Type-1 Ti , which was installed on the IS 300 . Argggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh! I am still not able to upload that clip.

btw its not 80mm, its 60mm and the tip is straight not angled- according to the JIC site. I wanna see what the resonator looks like. If its as small as the ones on the pictures then this is going to be one loud *** exhaust. Greddy might be more of my liking I guess.

$600 too much for a cat-back? i believe that in some cases, this being one of them, you get what you pay for. I paid around $620+ shipping for my cattman cat-back about 8 months ago. But, it's all high quality stainless steel that i will never have to worry about "falling apart" and it gives good performance. i know that my exhaust will last for the life of the car. I would rather spend 600 once than spend 300 or whatever repeatedly b/c the exhaust rusted or fell apart. i can't say this about all off my mods, but i would make this purchase again in a heartbeat.
just my 2 cents
p.s. the picture on the site has to be wrong b/c the hangers on the muffler are off. our maxes (or at least 00 and 01's i know for sure) have 2 hangers on the left side of the muffler and one on the left.

Like I mentioned before that looks to be a S13/ S14 exhaust they are showing off. U will be lucky to get 3 years out of a EVO1 Greddy in Chicago ! This is why I insisst on SSteel.

I'm not aware that this exhaust ever came out. Jon K, the head of JIC USA made the first prototype on my car a few years back. It never made it to production. Unless they just got them recently, I don't think that JIC ever made this exhaust.

i'm guessing that they finally got them in. cobymoby: if it's ur car, then i did see them install a full catback on it while i picked up my coil overs. i'm gonna be heading back into their shop soon for some warranty repairs on the coil overs and i'll ask them about it.

OK, it sounds good.... but, it ( just like a Greddy ) would only look good with a rear valence. IMO Greddy looks much better.

Ok , I am glad you think it sounds good,.......now about the look.......everyone has their own taste . Did you notice how at first you assumed that it sounds like Case close. I myself am a diehard fan of being "STOCK" , I have a "STOCK" 01 SE muffler which I love, but I am not naive to a good product ,i.e JIC ,Apexi ect.

Well I e-mailed a few online stores bout the JIC, if everything goes well I might have it next week And I don't think it will sound anything like the one in that video. VQ is highly strung V6 compared to a 2JZ motor.

You are correct , but you could do the community a favor and post a clip after you have installed yours. .

I will post a clip and pictures. I'm going to a dyno again in like a week or 2. I'm a big JIC Magic freak, to a point I was going to get a 4th gen exhaust and mod it to work on a 5th gen- but since they have one for a 5th gen then its all good ! When it comes down to putting parts on my car- no Tenzo R, no OBX, no cheap parts- everything has to be name brand and I don't care bout the cost- I can save up to have a good product. I want it to last atleast 100K miles, as I'm nearing my 1st 100K right now.
