silicone sealer

What type of sealer is everyone using? Im gonna be doin some of the lamp rewires and it says to apply silicone sealer...but if I goto home depot and do a search they have them for like roof/blacktop or a caulk like system...so if anyone can tell me the type they use, it would be great, also if any local, driveable stores carry it also...like home depot, wal mart, something like that...

They're probably talking about the standard Silicone Sealant that you find in auto parts stores. I wouldn't look at Home Depot, and Walmart may not have a full selection, but for light-related work you'll want a clear silicone sealant, and Walmart may carry it. Just look at the automotive section, or go to a real auto parts store.

Silicone sealant comes in a lot of different grades/colors, e.g. high-temperature (for exhaust parts, coolant parts, etc.), low temperature sealants (guess that can be used on the timing cover, etc.)
I think clear silicone sealant is typically a low-temp sealant since it's commonly used for body/weathered trim pieces, including lights.

I use Permatex Clear Silicon. Works absolutely fine on my bumper side marker. You should be able to find it at any store that carries automotive parts.
