SES Light Came On and wont go off!

Hey last week my SES light came on a couple of hours after I filled my gas tank up. I checked the cap and made sure it was on tight and a week later the light is still on. Now Nissan wants to charge me $85 just to do a diagnostic. What should I do? Is there a place where I can get a diagnostic cheaper?

Thanks

just cause it came on after you filled up doesnt mean thats the problem. the fact that it is still on means that its another problem that needs to be fixed.
like Gsilk said, go to autozone

I drove mine until empty too and refilled on Friday. and I have probably drove it about 25 miles since then and it's still on. Also the day before my light came on I had just got my oil changed at Jiffy Lube. Maybe they didn't tighten something back up?

if they didnt tighten something up then you are probably leaking oil. if thats the case and you lose enough and drive hard enough then you will be looking at a lot more money than a $85 diagnostic fee. go to autozone or a local shop and have the code pulled. post up the results and it will much easier to help you out. edit- if the light goes off by itself, the code is still stored in memory and can be pulled.
