Removed Injen CAI...eh...same difference

I have been on this kick to make my car quieter. As much as I like powerful, fast cars, it is pretty clear that I don't drive one so I'm sort of tired of the noise that the intake makes. During my strut swap this weekend, I went ahead and put the original intake back int the car, replacing my Injen CAI. Reality...that thing didn't do dooky. Pretty happy having the car nice and quiet and still pulling just as hard.

Will be glad to let my car scream again if it is boosted, but as long as it is N/A, I will do all I can to quiet her down.

heh

i dunno if its the 3.0, but the 3.5 made an annoying sound at around 2.2k rpm that bothered me a lot, with the injen on it got rid of that sound...what i like about the intake is that its quite till i hit the gas hard

i actually remember when i took it off for the dealer, the stock engine sound bothered me cause it sounded wimpier then when the intake is on..

but thats me

I have the injen cai and at 10-20 mph when I hit the pedal hard I can hear like a chain sort of noise from the engine then as the car picks up speed it goes away. I never hear this noise stock-3.5 6sp. I am taking the cai off this weekend. Any ideas.
Plus i put good gas on the car so I know its not that.

I hear you. The funny thing is that after about 20K miles with the CAI or some form of aftermarket intake on, the engine now sounds too quiet...I keep thinking something is wrong with the car because that grumble doesn't echo when I go WOT. However, in the end...the car feels more refined and that's what I'm going for right now.
