Dealer installed HID anti-theft...will it complicate angel eye install?
I went to the dealer on monday to get oil change, tire rotation and checkout my bose and I called later on to see if it was done and they said yes but also they installed the anti-theft bracket thingy WITHOUT asking my permission.
Will this bracket cause any complications when I go to clear my HIDS and install angel eyes this weekend?? And who is the guy who has the nice writeup with pics on installing the angel eyes. Thanks.

housecor has the write up..
You will definitely have problems getting the headlights off if you don't know how to take off the front bumper. I didn't, wasted a couple hours to get out 3 screws on each side. Basically, the bracket is installed to the headlights w/3 small silver screws (left/middle/right). Get under the car, pull back the splash shields, and w/a long screwdriver you'll be able to get out the 2 (fender side, middle). But getting out the one near the grille, you'll need a screwdriver w/a flexible neck or something b/c there's not much room there. Good luck...

Wait a sec?? the dealer installed the anti-theft brackets for free?? I just called my dealer today and they basically have heard absolutely nothing about the anti-theft brackets for the HID's. Is this just an east coast thing?

So will having this bracket be much more of a problem for install. If so I won't hesitate to get the dealer to uninstall it. I really don't care for having the bracket on as I live out in the middle of nowhere and most people don't even lock their houses let alone car doors around here.
Finally, Nissan is implementing this in areas around New York and New Jersey to
reduce the likelihood that these crimes will move to other areas where they are
not now occurring. Not only are customers in these states being contacted, but
also Maxima owners in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and eastern
Pennsylvania will receive this letter.
just drive to eastern pa and have it done

I wouldn't be mad that they went ahead and installed the Data Dots. Most of us wish our dealers would be proactive in fixing TSB's, especially one as important as that!
In any case, it will make the DDE install much harder, but it can be done...

IMO, that's pretty cool that they went ahead and did it. Good to see some dealers are providing some good service. Thats the way all 2k2-2k3 maximas should have been, so I would just live with it.
