V1 hidden display in clock!

I know I saw it on a 5th gen. This person removed the clock on thier dash and replaced it with the V1 hidden display! Does anyone here know where that right up may be?

That's a pretty cool idea. I might have to give that a try.

The clock trim piece is easy to remove, and removing the clock from behind it is easy as well. For the trim piece, you just grab firmly on either end of the clock unit and pull straight up. Makes a horrible sound, but it's not breaking anything.

The V1 is the Valentine 1 radar detector's hidden display panel. Keeps things looking clean, and doesn't tip off smokey by hanging that thing in the windshield.

Good idea... perfect in states where its illegal to have radar detector. I don't know much about these but I thought radar detectors are efficient when they are placed in the middle of the windshield... will there be a problem by hiding this in place of the clock? Also, how would you power the radar detector... how do you wire it from inside. We definitely need a write up...

THe Unit is still placed on the windshield, however just the optional display unit will be placed in the clock housing! I am going to buy a new one so I can interchange. I will be cutting a little of the surround and I want to be able to return my car to stockI.E. new clock trim pieces!
