Momo steering wheel ?

Anyone installed a MOMO or any other kinda aftermarket steering wheel on their 5th gen ? I wanna ditch my airbags completly ( sell em on Ebay ). I even found a place that sells airbag covers that will cover up the pass side airbag hole once the bag is removed. I'm looking for a hub that will fit the steering wheel column splines, found alot for S13/S14s and Sentras, but I can't find one for a A33. I don't like the school bus size steering wheel on my Max, plus mine aint even leather. I can relocate the cruise controll buttons- done this on a Sentra before.

hey.. i'm in hk right now, and i'm buying a momo steering wheel as well as a boss kit to adapt it.. the thing is there is no manufacture for a boss kit in the US for the maxima. The one I am buying is for the Cefiro A33 which is the infiniti i30. I believe its the same, but I can't guarentee it. If you want one I can get you one and mail it to you when i get back in a month. Let me know, the brand is HKB which is what everyone uses out here. The HKB boss kit will let you by pass the airbag so you dont get the light on. Also, note that the horn and the cruise is not guarenteed to work if you change the wheel.

I wouldn't want to sacrifice my airbag, thats the only sense of protection I have going 120+. But im sure its going to look and feel sweet.

hmmmm, not so smart to disable BOTH (or either) airbag for aesthetic reasons. Is it worth being paralyzed or killed in an accident to have a cool steering wheel? Try explaining that one to a grieving parent. While we're at it, let's disable the seat belts too. That way they won't wrinkle your clothes and you'll shave 3 pounds off your car's weight!
I apologize for the sarcasm, but I just don't see why anyone would want to defeat a safety measure that has saved thousands of lives.

i dont really drive my car too much, and i'll be getting racing seats w/ a 4 point harness so i should be fine... its pretty much a show car so i would never be goin 120 anyways since one bump and most likely my kit would get ripped off...

Don't get rid of your airbags. You have got to be a invincible teenager to want to do this. Don't risk your life and the life of your passengers on something that will most likely look really bad.

Hmm most of ya guys dunno who I am, I'm not a teenager, I'm an adult, I own a few cars, 3 out of 6 have airbags, and I'm not affraid to drive the cars with no airbags. U can't dissable just the driver's bag, and keep the pass one. U can on the other hand dissable the pass airbag and keep the drivers one working. I am a mechanic, I used to work for Hyundai and Nissan in the past and repleaced TONS of airbags- due to electrical maulfunctions in the igniter units. After repleacing the bag- we had to blow em up This was mucho fun. Lining up 12 airbags outside connected to eachother and then feeding them 12v from a battery all at once created one big baaam Anyways I * TEDDIBEAR* I want the steering wheel boss kit, A33 I30/I35 and Maxima share the same steering column and power steering rack. I don't have any kids driving my Maxima, no one drives this car but me. I plan on installing a set of Bride Brinx seats in the front with some Sabelt racing harness'. Even if U remove the SRS controll module the pretensioners in the seatbelt will work- only the phyrotecnics won't.

you may not need to remove the passenger airbag, i think the boss kit has a airbag sensor to make the computer think that the airbag is still there...

\btw i think the boss kit is around 65 not including shipping.. is there anything else you need from HK while i'm here?

I'm trying to get Momo Fighter in 13.8" I dunno but the stock wheel is HUGE- feels like I'm driving a highly tunned, MACK truck. I love the way my friends S14 feels with a MOMO. What else they got in HK thats pretty cool ?

I wanna remove the bags and sell em on Ebay anyways, make a few hundred bux. Its my car and I feel I can do whatever I want with it. Since I have 100K miles almost on a 01 GXE, the car aint worth much anymore. I'm keeping her till it rusts out ! They make special covers for airbags- when U remove em. 75 bux I have a airbag cover for pass side where the stock one used to sit at. Plus I might be able to put a POP up TV in that spot

I think the price of the wheel here goes for almost 200 us which is a bit cheaper than online prices... let me know
