Intake Manifold

Can anyone tell me how to take off the intake manifold and how difficult it is to remove? ALso, my intake manifold is black, is the black painted on and if so, how do i remove the black to show the original metal color? i would like to either polish or chrom the manifold... does anyone know of a maxima with that part polished or chromed? thanks!

This is not an easy task, there are 4 bolts on the back of the manifold to remove that are basically brackets to the head.

Then you got the bolts on the top that connect it to the plenum.

Then ALL the wiring that is cliped to it needs to be removed. Then the manifold will come off. Believe me, Ive done this aint it aint fun.

Also the black is not a color, its actually made of composite plastic/abs material. There is no metal in it. If you want a polished or chrome look, you are going to have to send it off to get plastic chromed, thats the only way you are going to get it to look like real chrome.
