Before the car really warms up, the darn thing doesn't like to shift into 2nd gear. It just keeps reving up to redline without shifting. But when I yank my foot off the gas, THEN it upshifts! WTF? Please advise. Thank you.

No problem... several of us have had our transmissions replaced and even more have had simply the solenoid or TCM replaced. The auto trannys in our cars are wothless.

There is a fluid temp sensor in the transmission. Until the temp comes up to 122 - 176 f the trans will hold off on up shifting. It's very hard on the transmission to shift under full throttle when it's cold, so it tries not to.

I feel kind of foolish... That makes a lot of sense. I'll let the car warm up a little longer before I push it from now on. Thank you, too.

Yes the auto tranny does have the shift-delay problem until the car is warmed up a bit. Even after i had the ECU replaced w/ newer a model, it still does that. I think the solenoid replacement (one of the newer TCM mentioned that) should do the trick. Bring that to your dealer and have them check it out.

It all makes sense... BUT in my opinion its BS. I had to take my car in for my tranny 5 times. Each time they couldn't reproduce it... no problem found. Then the last time... Oh.. we're going to need to replace your transmission. Our transmissions are crap. Take it to your dealer and make them fix it. The TSB isn't out there because this behavior is normal, there is a problem, get it fixed.
