Stiff Clutch Pedal

Stiff Clutch Pedal
I have a 2k1 with 57k miles and I noticed that my clutch pedal when depress is very stiff! The clutch pedal feels fine when I first start driving but as soon as I start driving more the pedal starts getting very stiff. Also, I hear a slight grinding/squeaking noise when I fully depress the clutch. I took the car to a mechanic but they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Any ideas what the problem could be? Will flushing the Clutch fluid reservoir do anything?
Thanks in advance,
DC

Igor911 thanks for reply.
Where exactly is this "ball" located? How do I get to it?
