Tein H Tech & Tokico

Well, The Max is in the shop getting lowered. Putting on the Tein H Techs with Tokico's non adjustable. The Teins will lower the Max 1.6" in the front and 1" in the rear. I can't wait to see the Max tomorrow when its done. Does anyone else have this setup on there MAX and how does it feel?

i have the h-techs with the gr2s and i absolutely love the ride. the car handles and rides even better with the 18s that i put on rather than the stock 16s which caused the car to get bouncy every now and then. hopefully youll enjoy it as much as i do.

Thanks

Thanks, I am hoping it looks and rides sweet. I replaced the Potenza's 225/50/17's with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 235/50/17's so a little extra rubber can't hurt the ride.

I'm thinking of getting the same setup. How well does your ride handle 5 passengers? Do you still get the bottoming out feeling, or is it much better? Oh yeah and how well does it handle our bumpy a$$ PA roads?

I really only ever travel with one passenger, never more than two, and that's on very rare occasions....can't help you on that one....I'll be taking a vacation in a few weeks with what should be a few hundred pounds of luggage (i take my weights with me so i can work out), so I can let you know then, I've had no bottoming out issues on the huge dips on 76 between Conshohocken and KofP, though....and for the two weeks I had my 17's on, it handled great on our roads, nice and tight - once i put the 19's on, in combination with the drop, well..... <teeth chattering>

Thanks

Well I was going to just do the springs but of course the garage advised me to get shocks too. I know, they always try and sell more . But they had a legitimate reason and I believed it. When I would drive with the stock shocks and springs, just a normal sized bumb would cause it to hit the bump stop. So I knew that I needed shocks. Plus if I just did the springs and the shocks went within the year, it would cost an extra $200 labor plus the price of the shocks to fix it. So I killed two birds with one stone and saved $200 in the long run. Well should be able to pick it up in about an hour, I am so Damn Pysched.

Rides Sweet

Ok, i don't care who out there says that lowering the car and getting better shocks doesn't make your car perform better. I read a reply to a thread about Tokico Blues on OEM springs and the person, No Names Mentioned said there is no handling gains from lowering the car!! Hmmmmmmmmm I wonder why he would say that. I guess all the race cars out there should just have there cars jacked up and then race. I took my Max for an all out performance drive on a road that has many sharp turns, S Turns before the Spring and SHock replacement and I was all over the place. Today I got the car back with the Tein H Techs and Tokico Blues and did the same roads. I had so much more to play with in speed. The Max was so much tighter to the road. I could have went 10 to 15 mph faster around these Sharp & S Turns. Anyways, go for it, but do it right. Get both shocks and springs together and save money on an install.

I will be installing my Eibachs and Illuminas tomorrow (Saturday). I am Soooo excited! The stock ride is WAAAAY too bouncy and uncontroled.

I have a feeling that this new set-up will cure the bouncyness

Nice drop.

I ordered the Tein H Techs today via the group deal. I also ordered the Tokico Illuminas as well from SWA. After seeing your drop I cant wait to get them. I have been torn between the H&Rs, Progress & the HTechs Known all along I wanted the Illuminas but the springs have been driving me crazy. Finally made up my mind when I saw the group deal on the HTechs. I am glad I waited.

I am Not Sure

I don't know how they are except they are alot more aggressive with I believe a 2.2" drop in the front and a 1.6" in the rear. I went with the H Techs with the drop of 1.6" in the front and 1" in the rear becasue I also have a bigger tire on the Max. I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 235/50/17's so I was worried about rubbing and also I live in the NorthEast and thought if it was to low the snow build up inside the wheel well would be a pain in the ****!!!
